For the past few weeks mommy and Joshy have been having fun finding new hairstyles. So far Joshy seems to love the curls. Mommy sponge rolls her hair at night and she lays on her tummy so she doesn't smoosh them while she sleeps.
Then you have me Elijah and Josiah who just have the buzz cuts.
Being a parent is so awesome.

Christmas preparation

I love this time of year and hope to always portray that to our children. Every year we put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving and so far we have made a gingerbread house for the past 3 years. I believe its important to have these little traditions within a family even if your schedule is as hectic as ours.
The kids had a blast and so did mom and dad.

Dentist trip

Last week we had our first trip to the dentist where all 5 kids had to get teeth cleaned and see the dentist. It was an experience. We were blessed enough to go with our friend Julia and her 2 kids. They helped entertain our kids. Luckily the waiting area is loaded with toys and our kids played with every one. The babies did very well and so did the big kids.

We spent this Thanksgiving with friends and many of the boys that we take care of. There was a lot of food and a lot of people but a blessed day all in all. Can't really show pictures but it was a good day to remind us of all we have and how much we need to thank God for these blessings. Fighting with a broom

Isaac spent the afternoon yesterday fighting with a dust mop. He could not get it to fit under the table and was screaming at it. He was so frustrated but at his age he hasn't really learned how to ask for help. I was tired of this battle so I took away the broom. He screamed at me for about 3 more minutes and then got distracted and moved on. He doesn't know how to ask for help but we do. How often do we act the same way? All we need to do is ask for help. God is ready to listen?

There are some days where I think the twins have a little conversation about what would be cool to do. We saw them follow each other into the kids room and heard them laughing. Walk in there and this is what we found. What a blessing it is to watch our kids grow, play, learn, and have fun!

Visit to Arkansas

We were blessed enough to go and visit my family in Arkansas this last week off. The kids played and ran around nonstop. Mommy and daddy were exhausted from the never ending playtime.
They helped papa feed the chickens, played at the park, visited family, rode horses, trampoline time and so much more.
I was so excited because this was the
First time that all of our family was together. I really enjoyed watching the kids with everyone.

Sorry I haven't blogged for quite some time. I'm am delighted to say that my pregnancy with the twins went very well and that they arrived on May 13th of 2010. On May 12th I had an amnio to see if the babies were ready, the results came back that their lungs were not prepared for life outside the womb yet. Later that night I continued to have some significant contractions and ended up in the hospital. I stayed the night and the next morning, even with drugs to stop the contractions, they did not quit. They were about to bus me to Oklahoma City and my contractions stepped it up a notch. The doctors didn't want me to continue to have more intense labor so they decided to go ahead and take the babies, even though we knew at least Lilly's lungs were not ready. They took me back at about 12:30 and Lilly was born at 12:53, 5lbs. 12oz., 17 1/2 inches and Isaac at 12:54, 5lbs. 12oz., 18 1/2 inches. When Lilly came out there was some very weak gurgled crying but not much. We knew she was going to need some help breathing and so they intibated her and shortly helicoptered her to Childrens in OKC. Isaac came out yelling and everything with him seemed to be very good. Isaac and I stayed in Altus at the hospital I delivered at from May 13-16. Jason was with Lilly in Oklahoma City from May 14-17. Finally on the 17th I got to hold my daughter for the first time and our family was reunited.

Praise the Lord for his blessings! This was a difficult time and felt so long, but we know we were very fortunate and blessed. Lillian Beth and Isaac Jason are doing great. They have a little cold but have grown to 6lbs. 11oz. each and are beautiful and becoming more and more alert every day. Thank you all for your prayers! We are doing very well and "our cup overflows."

Here are the ultrasound pictures from yesterdays doctors appt. Isaac is measuring 2lbs. 8oz. and Lilly is right behind him at 2lbs. 6oz. Both babies are growing very well and everything in utero looks great. My body just needs to hold on for 8 more weeks. I know they will be good and ready by then. We are just thankful for every day that goes by that they stay inside. God has been very very good to us. Please continue to pray that this pregnancy will continue to go well and that in the end I will be healthy and we will be able to bring home 2 healthy babies shortly after delivering them. Love you all! THanks for your prayers and support. We definitely feel them daily!!

These are the second set of ultrasound pictures for Isaac and Lilly. At the visit we had in early February both babies were looking excellent. Isaac weighed in around 1lb 5oz and Lilly was right ahead of him at 1lb 6oz. The doctor said that they both look "awesome." I have been encouraged by all the positive things she has had to say about their development inutero. Our next appt is this Friday March 19th at 4pm. I will try to post those pics and the info the next day. So far so good. All of the prayers are doing us worlds of good. The plan is to keep them in until 36weeks, do an amnio (make sure their lungs are developed), and if the results are good schedule a c-section around the 2nd or 3rd week of May. Yes, that means 8 1/2 more weeks to go!

Elijah's First Play/Musical Performance: The life of a Farmer

Elijah had his first play this past tuesday and he did great. He lead the audience in the pledge and did a great job singing with a group. Every time he saw us he would wave so excitedly. Here are some of the pictures.

Prayers for Power

We are currently out of power and have been since last thursday morning. WE have heat and water, thanks to generators but no hot water or stoves to cook on. Please pray that power will come back on for our rural areas soon. The work crews have been putting up poles and lines around the clock and are making progress, but so many people are stuck with out some of the things that they need. Send your prayers this way!

Also had a doctors appt. today and the babies were kicking each other like crazy and their heartbeats were strong and good. The kicking is getting stronger for me too. It has been really neat. Continue your prayers please!

Well we are having a boy and a girl. The doctor said that they both look terrific. That news was so good to hear. On our way back home we stopped by babies r us and I made my first twin purchase. Elijah loses his first tooth

Most of you would expect that my children would be like me in some way. Elijah doesn't nap, his last nap was probably when he was two. Then he was done with naps. I hated napping but would love a few more naps now. Anyways, to the point. During nap time at school today, which is Elijah's least favorite time, he started to wiggle and pull on a tooth that has been loose for several weeks and out it came. My baby has lost his first tooth. I don't like it. That means he is continuing to grow against my wishes. He was so excited and called from daddy's cell phone once he was picked up. What a day! Love my six year old!!!!

Joshy sat and colored for about 30 minutes and when we came back to check on her she was taking all the caps off and lining them up in her own little organized fashion. When one of the boys tried to take her markers, she told them to leave them alone, she had them just perfect. What an awesome little girl we have!

This is my beautiful nephew, born October 19th, 2009 at 9:03pm weighing in at 6lbs. 7oz. and 20 inches long. Jessica and Liam are both doing well.

The kids finally decided on a name for our new puppy. After suggestions from poo poo to suzan to Dora. They all decided and gave the okay to calling HER Scooby. Yay! She is sweet and sleeping alot. What a transition for her, she has been chasing the kids up and down the hallway until she gets tired , she has had her first bath and already peed on the floor, which was promptly clean up and sanitized. Busy day. Plus she is away from her momma and six brothers and sisters for the first time. She has already claimed a stuffed animal and has been sleeping on it. It has been awesome to watch the kids with her, we just have to make sure she is able to rest, they would hold her all day if we let them.

Project Organization: The Kid's Clothes

We were off this past week and we decided to undergo the complete organization of the kids clothes. That means organizing all three of our children's clothes by size and season from newborn to now. We started on Monday and just finished today (Saturday). We spent several hours on it each day.

When we started we had a total of:

20- 18gallon rubbermaid tubs

3- 22gallon rubbermaid tubs

1- 33gallon tub

3- 10 gallon tubs

2- 18 gallon under bed storage containers

6- 10 gallon underbed storage boxes

that is 585 gallons of clothes! Here's the cool part. We bought those vacuum seal storage bag. You put the clothes in and then vacuum out all of the air thus condensing the space that 585 gallons of clothing take up. AWESOME! It was totally rewarding to watch all the bags shrink.

Here are some pictures of the clothes spread out all over our den.

Here is a picture of MOST of the empty containers. Several of them we put clothes in to go to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Now is the most awesome part. We condensed 35 containers (585 gallons) of children's clothes into 14 storage space saver bags. Here are the bags (below), most of them fit on the top shelf in our closet. We could have fit 2 maybe 3 18 gallon tubs up there. All but three of the bags fit on the shelf. Now the only problem is what to do with the containers. I'm sure we have other things that we can store in them. Toys, more clothes, or small countries. There's no tellin' what the future holds.

I'd like to take this time to thank my mom for the tons of money she saved us by buying most, if not all, of the children's clothes and apologize for depleting her retirement fund. WE LOVE YOU!!!

There is a teacher here in town named Lily Cary and her Grandson is suffering from a disease the is extremely rare. The babies name is Ridge Cary and he is in desparate need of your prayers. The mom is asking on her blog that all pray for a miracle. I'm begging the same thing. God created this little one with a purpose in mind and I pray that his purpose includes a long future, living, laughing and loving with his family.

My First Day of Kindergarten....Or Not!

I should begin this entry with the fact that we took Josiah to the hospital this past Sunday with a 104 fever and because he wasn't keeping down any fluids. Diagnosed him with strep throat and gave him his first suppository, what fun, and a shot of antibiotics. Joshlynn went to the doctor the next day and also had strep throat. They are both much better now. Still a little whiny, but acting more like themselves. We were hoping Elijah was in the clear.

Elijah was so excited about his first day of Kindergarten. He had met the teacher and located his cubby and even worked on the computer they have in the classroom on meet the teacher night. Wednesday afternoon we noticed he wasn't looking so good and he felt hot. I took him to the doctor and sure enough strep throat strikes again. Thursday was to be his first day of school and he was still running a high fever. So he missed it and was still running a low grade fever the next morning, so Monday will be his first official day of Kindergarten.

Now I have to admit that I ended up having nearly that entire day with him by myself. It was so wonderful, Elijah scheduled out our day, we watched several movies together while cuddling on the bed, he watched me play the Wii , which we both enjoy, we had story time and made up stories. I think it was exactly what I needed. We hadn't been able to spend much one on one time with him since it was still summer and our boys were all home and the demands of our own children. I just felt with every passing day I wasn't able to be with him like I wanted. But because of strep throat I had exactly the time I wanted with him. The first day with him just calmed my anxieties and now I'm ready for him to go to school on Monday. Please pray that he will be well rested and that God will keep him safe and happy.

this time we got to go to the outdoor part. It was wonderful and the weather was very nice. Not to hot not to cool. It's always nice to be in the sun.

Josiah and Elijah were like little fish swimming around. They just stay submerged.

These buckets all take turns dumping out and when you pull the rope the water sprays out the top. Sooooo FUN!!

The Pre-kindergarten Vacation

This week was our last week off before Elijah starts Kindergarten. Is it bad that nap mats make me anxious. Just thinking about buying one for him to take to school. I could vomit it ties my stomach in knots. My first born precious, bossy, know it all, sweet, prayerful, amazing, smart boy is going to Kindergarten in less than 3 weeks.. 2 weeks 6 days to be precise. I'm really struggling. It makes me so sad to think about him not being here. Moving on... can't type about it any more I'm getting emotional.

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge, yes AGAIN! It was an awesome trip and I will have pictures up soon. Joshlynn went willingly into the wave pool, lazy river and over to the giant bucket zone. Awesome. Elijah went on some of the bigger slides this time and loved it. Josiah continued to have a blast wherever he went. The outdoor park was open, since we didn't go during cold season and we all came home a little sunkissed. I just love hanging out with my family... with occassional breaks of course. We all need a little bit of space. We also went to see Ice Age 3, which was wonderful. And on the way home picked Gram up at the airport. She will be with us for a week! YAY!! I love my family!!! 1 1/2 year old landry mahan pulled a hot cup of coffee over on himself and had to be taken to Children's Hospital in Little Rock to treat the burns. My aunt says that they have him on morphine for the pain and knock him out completely when they have to clean and scrub the dead skin away.

Praise God children are resilent and seem to heal much more quickly that us old adults. Please help his healing by remembering him in your prayers. I'm not sure the extent of the burns but he was burned on his head and face areas. Please pray for him. As I learn more I will post again. Thanks! Love to all!

I was at Ladies Bible Study this past tuesday and Jason sent me this picture during class. Isn't it gorgeous. We had just had a yucky storm blow through and then this beautiful rainbow. Jason let the kids get out of bed and go outside and look. He's such a great dad! They thought is was amazing!

Just got back from Branson with Nana and Pawpaw. We had a blast and slept good every single night. I don't think the kids moved once they fell asleep! Swimming every day, Silver Dollar City, Mini Golf, Bumper Boats, Arcades, Go carts and more. It was great! We are exhausted! I'll load pictures tomorrow! Good Night!!!!!

Tonight as I was putting our kids to sleep, it was Elijah's turn to pray. He prayed for our family and the boys we work with, and then he said, "and thank you God for Mars!" and kept right on praying for his grandparents. I thought this was funny and made a face of confusion. He stopped his prayer and stared at me and said, "Daddy, you know that God made Mars too, so we should thank him for that as well, I don't want to miss anything." Then he went right on praying.

Just thought I would share this hilarious, yet thought provoking evening.

Elijah's First Bee Sting!

You can kind of see where his hand is red. It swelled quite a bit but was fine by bedtime.

On Tuesday nights Hollis Public Pools has a ladies swim night. They are great about setting aside time for that. Last night I took Elijah (5) and Josiah (4) to swim with me. They don't mind if you bring the littler ones, which is awesome. We were having a good time jumping, sliding and splashing when Elijah saw a bug and pushed it away in the water. Unfortunately, it was a bee and it stung him. Never in my life have I heard such a bluster! The screaming was insane and went on and on. It was actually very hard for me to be nurturing because of how he reacted. Now I know stings hurt and this was the first time he was stung..... but come on, you would have thought all of his transformers were destroyed and he found out they weren't making anymore.. or that he was seriously injured. I was a little embarrassed that my child would respond in such an "over the top" manner. I did hug and kiss and comfort, but I also felt a little annoyed because of the super sonic boom of his voice echoing to all the corners of Oklahoma. Any how we left the pool early b/c he wanted to go home. He did ask shortly after the sting and in between screaming, "why did God have to make bees?"

God bless Elijah and thank you that he didn't have an allergic reaction.

The Silly Houseparents Kids!

We (all the houseparents plus troy and shiann) were able to get together for lunch and singing while the boys were away. While we were together we were able to get a picture of most of the kids together. They had lots of fun making silly faces.

Last night at dinner time we explained to the kids that shortly after we ate it would be time for bed. Josiah said, "Do we go to bed so that you and daddy can watch a movie, and kiss and hold hands." I said, "yes." He then replied, "Thats disgusting!" It was so funny. He has also asked us while we ride in the van why we hold each others hands and if we would stop. Guess he has already entered that age where displaying affection is gross.

One of our dear friends is in the hospital, due to some high blood pressure in her 27th week of pregnancy. She needs all of our prayers. Every week she can stay pregnant will help their little girl Wren get stronger and stronger. Charla is very very dear to us. She was in Jason's first youth group. like so many of the kids in our old youth group she has grown up and is now our friend and beloved one. We went to Hershey Park with the Hagerstown Church of Christ youth group yesterday. The kids had a blast and we are all exhausted today. 10am to 8pm at an amusement park with three little ones is a little tiring. The kids had so much fun. Joshlynn refused to ride anything but he swings and the mini-pirate ship. She said, "they scare me" to every other ride in the park. She did enjoy watching the boys ride and told them, "good job" when they got off. Elijah and Josiah rode everything twice or more. "Lets do it again" was the phrase of the day. It was very exciting for them and we had a great time watching them. Mom took the kids to a water show so that Jason and I could ride a couple big coasters. The Bear, Superdooperlooper, and Farenheit. Farenheit put Jason out of order. It was awesome, the roller coaster not Jason getting ill. You go straight up 90 degree angle about 3 or 4 stories and drop at a 90 degree angle. AMAZING!!! I'm gonna try to up load the boys on the Trailblazer. If I can't do it here I'll do it on Jason's Facebook. It was a good day!

we just returned from visiting our church family in pittsburgh. It is so nice to have so many places that feel like home. It was so good to see everyone. A special thanks to Dave and Vicki for letting us crash at their lovely place. Sorry the kids wouldn't even consider ketchup and eggs! It was wonderful to worship with the congregation at crossroads this morning. Listening to Terry's lesson was a treat as well. (sorry about the lottery tickets dave!) We can't believe how all the little ones have grown and how precious the new little ones are. we love you all very much and carry you with us always.

Jason is only good for one or two and then he throws up. My dad's back still won't work with coasters so it looks like i'm riding solo. She doesn't know that I am posting this, but I just thought you all ought to know that my wife is the most amazing woman in the world. She has been a great support for me over the years. She has always been there to lift me up and encourage me when I am down and needing help. Her smile is a ray of light in my day, whether it is raining or sun. She gives so much of herself to our family, the boys we minister to, to those we work with, to even random people we meet on the street, and I know how much she loves me and cares for me every time she walks in the room. Tomorrow we will be heading to Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas to attend Jason's Graduation ceremony. He will be recieving his Masters in Ministry. He has worked very hard and I am very proud of what he has accomplished, especially considering all the hard work he does here at the boys home. I am also very glad that he is finally done, I was worried he loved the computer more than me. Sometimes I would even catch him sleeping with it! Ha!

He is done and has worked hard. Please pray for us as we travel and also for the semi-short handed staff we are leaving behind. The Team here at Westview is sacrificing for us so that we can go. We are very grateful for all that they have done and continue to do for us. It is so nice to have friends! I love you all!

She shows off for the camerca so that we can all see how cute she looks in her easter dress, that she didn't wear until after easter. Then while we are at church she goes for the waterfountain and trips falling into the little stairs that go up. This is what she looked like at bedtime that night. It has been a week and it looks much better. She has a bruise in the exact same spot on the other cheek from falling into the pew at church yesterday. This was also the same day she threw a fit about wearing a shirt over her dress during meal time. When she woke from her nap that was the first thing she wanted, to take the shirt off. She is so single minded and determined. Please pray for us to direct her passionate personality towards God.

What a Mess!

Joshlynn was a huge mess today. We dressed her in her easter dress for church and boy did she love it.... until it was time to eat. We put a t-shirt on over her dress so that she wouldn't get food on it and she threw the biggest fit I have ever seen her throw. It went on forever. After 30 minutes of crying and screaming at Jason (because he's the mean one that put the t-shirt on) she finally calmed down a little and came out and sat in my lap. I asked her if she wanted to eat and she insisted that the t-shirt be taken off before that could happen. I said no we will take it off after you eat. She started screaming again, it slowly decreased in volume and 2 minutes later she had fallen asleep in my lap at the dinner table. She is still sleeping now and I wonder if she will wake up unhappy that the shirt is still over her dress. Time will tell.

Elijah got upset with Jason today because he had to pick up his toy mess. He decided it was time to pack his bags and run away. Jason decided to play along. He told Elijah he could only take 4 shirts with him when he started packing. Elijah immediately broke down into tears. "daddy I was just teasing." Jason told him it wasn't very nice for him to tease in such a way because it hurt mommy and daddy's feelings to think about him being gone. He told Elijah that we love him and never want him to leave but that we do have chores to do sometimes. Elijah said he was so sorry and that he wouldn't say that again. Jason forgave him and asked him to finish picking up the toys. He did and then cuddled with Jason for awhile. It was so sad and cute at the same time.

Josiah turned 4 years old today. We can hardly believe it. He is so sweet and busy. We spent his birthday at the park in Altus along with friends and family. Joshua Luallen's birthday was yesterday and we celebrated their birthdays together today. They played in the park and then we had ice cream and cupcakes. Josiah has been really interested in Handy Manny lately and he had a hammer cupcake cake with Manny on it. It was very cute.

Josiah is very smart and funny, he is very fast and is the best cuddler in our family. When he gets upset he whines alot and it is very nasal. Sometimes it drives me crazy. His bible class teachers can attest to that. He can also be very gentle and very sweet. Most people comment about how handsome he is and how blue his eyes are. Some of our boys say he will be good with the ladies. Heaven help us. We are so thankful for our 4 year old, he has brought so much joy and fun into our lives. God has richly blessed us and we are very grateful.

Leadership Training for Christ

We just got back yesterday from Rogers, Arkansas. We took our boys here at Westview to LTC. It was very tiring and very fun. Jason and I both loved seeing our boys step up and show others that they are building their abilities to lead the church in the future. Our boys participated in song leading, scripture reading, puppet shows, sermons, T-shirt designs, art pictures about this years theme, and poetry. They all did very well and we are both very proud. God is blessing us in this ministry here at Westview Boys Home. We love our boys and are very proud. Please continue to remember us and the young men we are caring for in your prayers.

The Great Wolf Addiction

We have gone to the Great Wolf Lodge three times now. We love it and the kids love it more. Joshlynn was more explorative this time, she went in the wave pool and in the lazy river... Okay we forced her to but she said, "weeeeee" several times. She also cried several times too. We are so mean. Josiah and Elijah did everything. The big waterslides the little ones the wave pool and the lazy river. It is just an excellent place for family fun. We also rented two movies that haven't been released yet. Jason and Joshlynn slept and Elijah, Josiah and I watched Bolt and The Tale of Despareux. The whole experience is so much fun!

Elijah had to sit for time out because he was whining and complaining. I'm sure he is in the middle of arguing with us in this picture. Debate team here we come.

Look, No Training Wheels!

We were outside playing on a lovely day. Jason was planting some greenery and Josiah and Joshlynn were kind of helping him. I looked at the bike and though, Elijah could probably ride w/o training wheels. Little did I know I was unprepared to see him do such a big boy thing. Here is the video of him riding. He is so big. Scurvy on the Red River

Okay so they don't have scurvy, but it's a fun title. After going to the Red River the boys broke out all over their scalp with these welts and bumps that itched.

Elijah had several big bumps after going to the Red River. The Doctor said they got a staff infection from being bitten or from the water agitating their skin.

Josiah had lots of little bumps on his head. We came home from the pharmacy with a steroid cream, antibiotic and an allergy medication. The boys will be done with their round of antibiotics just in time to go to the dentist. They were miserable for several days but things have cleared up nicely.

Joshlynn is just chillin' in her easy chair. She is so funny. This day was a pajama day. We have a few days when we don't go anywhere so we leave the kids in their pj's and have picnics in the livingroom floor while watching Scooby Doo. I just can't believe how big she looks in this picture. It is also amazing that I caught her sitting still, it usually doesn't last very long. Hope you are all having a blessed day!

Red River

Today we took our kids and our boys to the Red River. It is about a 5 minute drive from our cottage. It was a beautiful day and the boys are out for spring break so we decided to get out. We really thought it would be too cold to wade in but we were wrong. The boys enjoyed themselves and our kids just loved it. They would run through the water splashing and then belly flop in the water. The water was pretty chilly but not enough to bother them. Josiah just flew through the water. He is such a fast runner and Elijah just tried to keep up and eventually started making mud balls. It didn't take long for Joshlynn to start running after them and then shortly fall face first into the water. She very soon had mud all in her hair too. Her big brothers were throwing it at her and each other. We didn't bring swimming attire for them which is why Joshlynn's diaper is sagging and her booty crack is showing, I thought it was hysterical. They built sand castles and filled buckets with water and dumped them on each other. It was really fun! We enjoyed watching everyone! We may go again tomorrow! Have a great day!

These cute kids love going to the WAC (Wellington Activity Center) they had a blast two day ago playing with Hoola hoops. They would roll them across the floor and try to jump through as they rolled. It was so fun. Sometimes sharing was an issue but we still had a lot of fun.

Nana and Pawpaw Meet the Wii

Nana and Pawpaw came for a visit a week ago and while they were here spoiling and playing with the kids they played the Wii. We recently purchased Mario Cart and two Wii wheels so it was fun to watch Elijah and Josiah race Nana and Pawpaw. We a had a really good visit and are so glad that we live so much closer to Nana and Pawpaw. I think we have already seen them more over this past year than we did living in Pittsburgh.

Six Flags and the Ft. Worth Zoo

At the Zoo Joshua Luallen and Joshlynn were holding hands the whole way to the zoo entry. It was too cute to pass up. Joshua tells us now that she is his girlfriend.

Elijah sat on top of a model of the giant fire ant hills in Africa. I can't believe they actually get that big.

It is not a true trip without the silly face picture. I thought they all did very well! Must get it from Jason!

We had the priviledge to go to Six Flags and the Ft. Worth Zoo this past fall with Westview, sorry I'm just now blogging about the trip. We had so much fun. Luckily, for us, Gram came for a visit and went with us. It is always nice to have extra Roark children control. Especially, in big places like Six Flags and the Zoo. We really enjoyed our time with our family and with the boys. Six Flags had quite a few kiddy rides so the kiddos had lots of fun. The zoo was equally exciting for them as well. I was very releived to get my rollercoaster fix. I rode the Titan once with Jason and then 3 more times with some of our boys. Talked Jason into riding the Texas Giant with me twice, I had a huge bruise under my arm from holding my arms up in the air and then being slammed into the side of the car. Ouch! I think I said I was sorry more than I screamed and laughed on that rollercoaster b/c I kept squishing Jason. Poor man, the sacrifice he makes so that I don't have to ride alone. It was a very fun trip.

I can really tell the difference between film and digital camera. Elijah's one year pictures look vintage almost. He was so cute. Believe it or not he was actually talking in sentences by the time he was one year old. The pediatrician said that he was very advanced. He's still going strong. Talking is what he is good at. We spent Elijah's 1st Birthday at our house but I don't have his messy prints loaded to the computer. I'll have to look for them. But he was just barely one in these pictures. It is so hard to see him and not see josiah or joshlynn around. He starts Kindergarten this year. Watching him grow has been such joy! We love our 5 year old! Even though he can debate now. Yikes!

The Great Wolf Lodge

Two weeks ago we went on another family mini-vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge. Unfortunately our film from the trip was accidentally over exposed at Wal-Mart so we didn't get any pictures from this trip. We did go to the Great Wolf back in August of 2008 so I thought I would post a few of those pictures. We still had an excellent time. This time Elijah and Josiah were all about going on the big slides. They didn't do that the first time we went. It was so fun to see them racing down the big slides and splashing in the water. Joshlynn was faithful to the kiddy area and would go no where else without throwing a fit. She was comfortable in her little area. They have a wave pool, lazy river, kiddy area with 2 fun kid sized water slides, 2 big waterslides on a giant fort and a giant bucket that dumps water on you every 5 minutes. Then 7 or 8 enourmous waterslides. Elijah loved everything. Josiah tried everything and had so much more fun this time than last time. Joshlynn had fun in the area of her choice. We never left he Lodge during our stay, they have several restaurants inside, starbucks, pizza hut, and a nice ice cream place, plus a food stand inside the water park area. It was so fun and we were very happy to spend 4 days of fun together. Love my family!!!

Acrobatics with Daddy

The kids all love to perform amazing acrobatics with daddy. One of the ones that scares me the most is when he puts them on his legs like this and flips them over in the air. It looks like their little backs are going to break but they just laugh and giggle and do the flips over and over again. Jason was flipping Josiah and he just hung on and was upside down on Jason's legs just cracking up. They have so much fun.

Elijah is getting so tall that it is hard not to bonk his head on Jason's chest. Plus he is getting a little bit heavier. You should see his muscles. He shows them all the time. After he eats all his food veggies and all he always shows us how strong he is getting. He is growing so fast. Kindergarten starts for him in August. Pray for us. We will miss him!

This is one of the things our kids love doing with daddy. They lay out their blankets and then Jason rolls them up like a burrito and sits them up somewhere. They usually sit for a while and watch Scooby-Doo or Transformer Animated. It is just so precious. They all smiled for the picture. Joshlynn's burrito is coming undone but she was still having so much fun. I love my little Roark burritos!

Gymnastic Wednesdays

We go to gymnastics every wednesday and it is so much fun. We have four soon to be four year olds on campus and then Elijah who is five. So we load them all in a 15 passenger van and take them to Altus for one hour of gymnastics. They have grown so much over the past year in coordination, socialization, and ability to pay attention a little bit longer. The really fun thing for me is that we spend most of the class time laughing hysterically because between the five children there is tons of personality. On any given wednesday one of them is physically present but their mind is definately in another land which really makes things interesting. I have been in tears before because these five children are in la la land at one point or another. Ms. Amy their instructor asks them each day what color they are and often the reply is whatever color they have on that day. One day one of the girls said, "I'm blue but my panties are pink" So funny! Elijah has a tendency towards laziness so he has been just sitting while the others are doing forward rolls. Josiah is quick and really enjoys all of it. They are both very good at flipping over the parallel bar now. It is just such a joy to watch them with other children their age and see how they listen, or not listen and how they interact with each other. Thank you God for the children you have put in our lives that show us each day how creative you are and how blessed we are.

Elijah was taking a shower one day and he started yelling and laughing all at once. When we went into the bathroom we saw that Joshlynn had climbed into the shower fully clothed. We all got such a big kick out of how excited she was. Elijah was just cracking up after he realized no one was in trouble. This was the only picture I have that doesn't show Elijah naked. Can't you see how excited she was about being in the shower. So funny!!

Transformers for Tea

Although this was several months ago I thought it was definately blog worthy. In October gram sent Transformer bedding and such to the boys for Elijah's birthday, included in the package was a stuffed Optimus Prime. He stands taller than Josiah and is ment to be used as an extra pillow. Shortly after receiving them Jason peeked in their room to find Joshlynn sitting on the floor with Optimus sitting across from her and they were peacefully having tea together. She would pour the tea and make a noise that sounded alot like someone peeing in the pottie.(there is no other way to describe it) She would help Optimus drink his tea and then drink hers. But apparently Optimus must have crossed a line of some sort because she promptly started to beat him over the head with her tea spoon. Jason said it was the funniest thing he has ever seen. We just love our sweet little aggressive angel. Have a blessed day!

Transformers!

Elijah is possibly obsessed with Transformers. If he gets birthday money, or a visit from Nana and PawPaw or Gram and Papa Goo the first thing out of his mouth is, "did you bring me a Transformer!" He is asking for Transformers for Christmas. He just loves them and plays with them all the time. At bed time Jason has been making up stories for them and letting them participate in creating the story. Elijah always has transformers in the story and has recently invented Gramamus Prime. A transformer named after Gram and she transforms into a mini-van that is patterned like her current favorite robe. Elijah knew every last detail of her robe and described it as the purple van with blue flowers. We got a huge laugh out of this.
